Is The S&P Topping?
Chaos Clinic For 1/16/2026

This is a 12 day chart of the ES futures using 2 hour bars. The yellow EXMA is
a 6 bar, or 12 hour indicator.
2025 ended with the S&P headed down after a new all time high of 6995. The first
trading day of the new year saw a new low of 6866.5 down 128.5, close to a harmonic 120.
That point is numbered 0.
From there prices bounced in a five day up Chaos Clamshell. The green numbers show a
possible count. The high of 7035.5 came on the Consumer Price Index report. That
report basically said inflation had not changed. It is numbered 7. Also suggesting a
top was the "3 drives to a top" pattern.
Then next move on the 14th was down to a lower low of 6923,down 113.5. It is numbered
a magenta 1. From there, prices rallied 94.25 points to poijnt 2 at 7017.25.
At this point the lower high 2 suggests a possible down turn as part of a head and shoulders
pattern. This is an incomplete pattern so needs to be proven.
