Chaos Clinic Recap

Here are Al's comments
1:10 not much there again; I'm going to pass on the third trade and quit for the day; thanks for coming. See you next week. take a course
1:07 stopped for 0
1:04 stop to 41
1:03 stop to 42
1:01 stop to 42.5
1:00 stop to 43.5, just above 110
12:57 sold 41, putting stop at 44
12:56 a bit weaker
12:52 swings have decreased from over 9 points to under 3
12:47 110 EXMA is flat; sell crossing about to be negated by buy crossing; no juice; may be a pass
12:44 not much juice
12:39 stop missed by a tick; bottom wick on candle
12:33 putting sell stop at 1141; if hit my buy stop will go at 1145
12:22 updated my FOG chart in the CCT room
12:17 I'm back - coming into the second trade window -440 EXMA flat, tides are mixed; may not set up a trade
12:00 taking a breakfast break
11:55 first two highs right on the Tide times -first on green +Tide, second on red -Tide; mixed Tides
11:46 looks like a marginal new high to me
11:44 new high; and pushed above the 440 EXMA
11:41 looks like high held
11:37 retesting high of day
11:27 that failed-stuck in trading range
11:25 testing highs and 440 EXMA
11:18 a clue to what time of day it might be is the number of Tide turns in the day. More than 4 is usually choppy
Yesterday had 4, today has 6.
11:13 support was on the Saturn/Venus flux, average about the Mars/Jupiter flux, highs near Chiron/Neptune flux
11:10 now we have degenerqated into a realtively flat 110, with trade sides of it - a stay our condition consistant with an end of quarter day
11:00 another consideration is judging how much a gain might be-going up I saw only about 5 points move above the 110 EXMA.
So a potential gain of 5 versus a risk of 4 points did not see like a good tradeoff, especially sitting above a two day double bottom
10:54 one could have taken the downward crossing of the 20/110 as a sell signal. I did not, because I had already
taken my shot.
10:53 I have placed a Face of God chart in the Certified Chaos Trader's Room. That room is open
to graduates of my 4 main courses. See http://moneytide.com -> Courses for details.
10:42 I thougth that we might settle into a congestion with the end of the quarter and the month window dressing
10:39 looks like we have a congestion balanced at 1140
10:37 not much there-rally stalled at the white 440 EXMA on the MTRainbow chart
10:30 stopped for +1
10:25 a technique I use on the MTRainbow chart is to watch the 20 EXMA crossing the 55 minute EXMA
before it crosses the 110
10:23 stop to 1143
10:20 stop 1142
10:18 I pressed the 20/110 crossing a bit based on my reading of the candlesticks and a low I could anchor a stop to
10:16 time to gamble-bought 1142 stop 1139
10:13 3 minute moves too big for good risk control
10:10 110 curled up, 20 EXMa rising toward it-still watching
10:08 9 points in three 3minute cnadles
10:07 up to the 110 EXMA
10:04 very inefficent -big swings going net nowhere
10:01 3 swings to test the lows - bullish, but too fast for manual trading right now
10:00 very high frequendy moves-just watching
9:57 sentiment improved-trade just quivering, to-ing, and fro-ing
9:53 lows have held so far
9:49 testing yesterday's lows
9:47 pretty whippy
9:43 bounce suggests someone knows the report before it is released
9:39 Consumer sentiment out at 9:55 -last economic report of the quarter-hedge fund computers trade it, so I don't
9:37 yestrday's late rally off this region has been completly retraced
9:33 early trading is down, well below downsloping 110 EXMA-prices too far away for a good trade setup
9:23 Today may be dull-end of week, month, and quarter. Trade times today are 10:22, 12:46 and 14:08
9:00 Good morning from Chaos Manor

Besides the comments made by Al, the chat room is has live
comments from other traders who sometimes share their views,
trades and tips. Below are the chat room comments from this clinic

9/30/2011 1:45:30 PM MT BBB:: That was sweet. HAve a good weekend everyone - great week.
9/30/2011 12:47:17 PM MT mm****:: Al left too early - the 20/110 1142 cross at 14:05 made 9 pts
9/30/2011 11:25:33 AM MT mm****:: I thought they are 45 min each side - has this changed? or does the no-trade 12:46 have a window also?
9/30/2011 11:13:25 AM MT Al****:: no, in two, since they overlap
9/30/2011 11:11:55 AM MT BBB:: Wow - I have been reading more and more about it. I spend a lot of time in Costa Rica and now I defintiely see a way to spend a lot more time there with the tides.....
9/30/2011 11:07:52 AM MT mm****:: Al - are we between 2 windows?
9/30/2011 10:51:10 AM MT Tg****:: Born and raised in NJ. Commuted to NYC for several years. But never lived anywhere else for nearly 45 years until my wife, two kids and I moved here in July.
9/30/2011 10:51:03 AM MT kwb:: 11,100 definitely a magnet for the Dow today...... 111-take off the zeroes and it becomes an interesting number...
9/30/2011 10:18:14 AM MT BBB:: Tg, are you from the states originally or have you always lived in Singapore? I have heard great things about living there.
9/30/2011 10:05:41 AM MT Tg****:: The plan is to trade first few hours of the European session, take a break, then the first few of the outcry US session and get to bed by midnight or so. Problem is, the current trading environment is too good to call it quits after just the US morning session.
9/30/2011 9:59:29 AM MT Al****:: that ought to really screw up your diurnal clock :)
9/30/2011 9:55:04 AM MT Tg****:: Slept from 5PM EST to midnight EST (my noon). Was a little hyped yesterday after such an exciting trading day so took a little longer to get to bed then usual. Did a real nice hike in the nearby nature trail with the yellow lab I adopted since I've been in Singapore. Got back home around 4am EST, (4 pm for me) and saw a decent 20/110 cross right near an overnight tide time. Made 5 points. Took a dinner break. Another dog walk. Watched TV with the kids. Then started trading again near 10pm my time.
9/30/2011 9:53:47 AM MT mm****:: The second trade time looks like another successful MT CIT
9/30/2011 9:49:36 AM MT Al****:: so do you sleep at all?
9/30/2011 9:37:15 AM MT Tg****:: I made 5 on the overnight, trading the European open from Singapore near 4am EST. When your up for the day sometimes you can react a bit more on your intuition then you might otherwise.
9/30/2011 9:33:33 AM MT Al****:: nice
9/30/2011 9:24:17 AM MT Tg****:: Off of my first entry I didn't do any better than you Al, but I did manage to rebuy 1140 based on fractal grid training. The pop back to the upside took place right in between the first two tide times, prime place for an inversion.
9/30/2011 8:46:02 AM MT kwb:: gm all, tough sledding here... right in the middle of the range for the last month and a half between 10600 and 11600 (Dow Indtrls)... though lots of volatility.. would really like to see it break back above 11200.. Al, any thoughts on direction coming out of this "congestion"?
9/30/2011 8:45:43 AM MT BBB:: Why could the trade not be to the downside here if the 110 starts to curl back down? The 20 made a perfect turn toward the 110 and now moving away?
9/30/2011 8:44:48 AM MT Al****:: TG, hope you made more than I did :)
9/30/2011 8:39:39 AM MT mm****:: nice MT CIT - right "on the money"
9/30/2011 8:24:07 AM MT Tg****:: Like you Al, gambled a bit. Bought the correction back near the test of the 55 and 110 at 1140. The candlestick tiling was key, often the 55 will hold the correction on such a nice efficient cross through the 110 exma.
9/30/2011 7:54:49 AM MT Tg****:: news out at 9:45 and 9:55. Also a vertical moon timeline at 10am. Not technically a two moon day as the second vertical timeline is just after the outcry session close but I've noticed a lot of days like this act like a two moon day.
9/30/2011 7:46:35 AM MT mm****:: Someone got the PMI number early
9/30/2011 7:27:17 AM MT mm****:: Al - slowly here in southern NH - usually the peak comes in the middle of October
9/30/2011 7:23:02 AM MT BBB:: Good luck today - great month, lets top it off with a great Chaos clinic
9/30/2011 6:41:09 AM MT Al****:: GM all-good luck today
MM, how are your fall colors coming?
9/30/2011 5:13:01 AM MT mm****:: gm all - last day of the week/months/quarter - have a great day
